Prices of seedcotton (phutti) low type was in Sindh wes unchanged at Rs 2400 while the fine variety was higher by Rs 50 to Rs 2700, in Punjab, rate of low quality was lower by Rs 100 to Rs 2500 while the good type was up by Rs 2800, they said. The ginners are looking in a comfortable mood as they don't want to sell their stuff at lower rates, because, some market analyst said that there are some anticipation that government may not allow mills to import cotton from foreign countries, such as Indian rupee is in strong position against the dollar these days, and this factor is causing great losses to the importers. Some leading local mills were also kept on the sidelines due to same factor, they said.
According to the market sources, economic turmoil in the globe, causing a huge loss of the business the world over, particularly exporting countries feared that they may not be able to originate funds from any side to revitalise moribund economic condition.
